Teressa is the head monkey in this fun act. She loves songwriting and singing. Each song on Hippity Hop Pop was lovingly crafted to bring joy to kids everywhere. Hippity Hop Pop is her debut kid’s music album. It’s a full-length album with eleven songs. Wake up to the fun, spirited reggae song, My Morning Song and doze off to the lush, lulling vocals of A Good Fig. Hippity Hop Pop takes you from morning to night on a single record.
Teressa has been songwriting since high school. She has always been a creative person. She danced tap and ballet at a young age, played piano for many years, took lots of art classes, sang in church and led worship teams all over Colorado.
She takes voice lessons with the famed Dr. Scott Martin. She also is honing her songwriting craft by attending the Durango Songwriters Expo and taking courses at Berklee College of Music.
Hippity Hop Pop started in 2013 as a gift to a former voice teacher’s newborn and the idea to create an album quickly developed. She once said, the baby only kicks for the good singers and she suggested I make a kid’s album. So, I did. Teressa worked with Brian Schey (Record Producer) and Brian McRae (Engineer: Wrecking Room) on the album. She hired skilled musicians to play drums, banjo, harmonica and more on the album. Rich Veltrop at The Spot Studios mastered the album in April 2019.
Teressa G & The Monkeys officially released Hippity Hop Pop on October 19, 2019. It’s available on most streaming services, including Apple Music, iTunes, YouTube, Bandcamp and many more.
Teressa is a single mom to one special little boy. She began fostering him in November 2016 and was finally able to adopt him in December 2018. She herself was adopted as a baby from Guatemala. He dances ballet, plays lacrosse, loves writing stories and reading, and is a total love bug. He sings all the time and knows all the words to Hippity Hop Pop. Teressa sings nightly to him. Maybe he’ll sing on the second album…
“I hope you enjoy listening to Hippity Hop Pop as much as I have enjoyed creating this special album for you and your children” - with love, Teressa
